Anna came up with Skate parks. We all liked that idea.

I never skate before. Maybe this is the perfect opportunity to try it.

I especially find the vibe around the skate park interesting which I would like to know more about.

An open place, for open and new people.
A place to dare to fall, a place where you feel safe as a beginner.
There are no prying eyes

It is a bit more remote and everything is a bit further apart. Failure is an option here.

You see this back in the movements.
The moves and tricks are smaller. People help each other in this space. They are learning tricks to each other. And they are open for a small talk.
The big zone! The obstacles rise and the real work begins. This zone feels intimidating. How's my trick? Who is watching?
The one before me, what trick he did. How can I get someone's respect?

When you're upstairs, the tension rises. And when you're down, the trick is done, respect, and pride comes to the skater.
"It's about respect and freedom, there is no winning."

Westpark Blaak is a skate park where many people come and which is located in the center of Rotterdam.

There is a road around the skate park. So cars drive past the skaters. In addition, it is close to the center and a skate shop.

Intimidated in an other way.
Kids from a year of 10 are coming and going. It's more the hangout place. The place that you kiss for the first time.
8'o clock

Afraid to go into the Parc, but I have to see, what is happening in the evening?

Not that much, actually nothing, but still I was afraid. My heart was in my throat. All I could think about was, as long as I'm not taken along now.

But why?My heart was in my throat. All I could think about was, as long as I'm not taken along now.

skateboarding originated because there was no wind at sea in the 1970s. They have made wheels under a surfboard
At one point, skaters wanted to do more tricks. Empty swimming pools were used as skating rinks.
